Why most auto-clips miss
A clip pulled from the middle of a conversation often starts mid-thought, relies on something said ten minutes earlier, or ends before the point lands. You get plenty of clips, but only a few work on their own.
Ask for clips by topic
You know what the good parts were. Upload the recording to Cutleap and say what you want: “make 5 shorts from this podcast: the bit about pricing, the story about the first customer, and my three best tips.”
Cutleap transcribes the recording, finds those moments, opens each clip on a full sentence that makes a point, and ends on the last useful line.
Make each clip stand on its own
Each short should cover one idea and make sense to someone who never heard the episode. Ask for no references to “like I said earlier,” and an on-screen line for context if the clip needs it.
Then test the openings
For your best clip, ask for a few versions with different openings. The same moment can do much better with a stronger first line.
“Make 5 shorts from this podcast, one topic each.”
“Open each clip with a full sentence that makes a claim.”
“Skip any clip that only makes sense with the full episode.”
